A Touch of Strep

Mac is not a morning person. He is also not a lover of school. I often have to decipher if his newest ailment is a hoax or real. He is a "sickly" kid, catching everything, and he has terrible allergies.

To his credit, he has often come to breakfast with his eyes almost swollen shut from pollen. He has also had strep about six times since Christmas. And, he is the "baby" of the family, so the mommy in me wants to keep him with me during the day, as much as possible.

He started strong antibiotics for another case of strep last week.

Today, he came to the breakfast table, looking as pitiful as he could, and said, while holding his throat, "I think my strep is really acting up today."

Good Grief! Get your butt to school!

Tavis' 8th grade Graduation

Anxiously awaiting...

Mr. Guertzmacher gave a great speach!

With the last name Brown, we usually get on the front row.

 Walking the stage!

Mr. Arnold may or may not be sad to see you go. :)
The pretty ladies watching the grads
Tavis and Joshua - best buds since 2nd grade
 The Brown cousins!
Tavis and Libby - Libby couldn't understand why she couldn't kneel too, so she is bending her knees a little.

 The tired, and proud, parents
Now, laundry and pack for DC and be back at school at 4 AM.

Capps in Atlanta

Capps went to Atlanta with his class from Tuesday thru Thursday. This was his group:

And these were the pictures I was texted throughout the three days:

At the Georgia Aquarium
Eating nine pieces of CiCi's Pizza
 At the CNN food court
 At the Atlanta zoo
 Ready for Stone Mountain!

Tavis' last day of Middle School

This boy is loving, fun, silly, and a little ADD. Our discovery of his ADD has lessened a lot stress in our house and I believe his grades are going to show major improvement.

And he is 1 1/2 inches taller than me now.

Executive Assistant to the Pastor

From April 2015-December 2015, I was scrambling. Per my Christmas letter, I was working five different jobs just trying to pay half the bills. It was beyond stressful. It forced me to lean on God more, but I did feel an odd peace that something was coming.

I have fought many, many years to keep my home office and not work outside the home. Real Estate became way too much for me and I felt 100% sure I was suppose to step away from that job. I felt sure, but I was also unsure how I was supposed to proceed. April thru December were very difficult. Financially difficult. Emotionally difficult. Physically difficult. But God is good. And He is faithful.

After much prayer, discussion, negotiations, and more prayer, I accepted a job at CPC as the Executive Assistant to the Pastor. I have taken on many of the Church Administrator jobs, but I am also a personal secretary to our new pastor. So far, I feel this is the right fit for me. The requirements of the job seem to be what God has been preparing me for over the last 20 years. I know that sounds extreme and/or strange, but there are so many things in my job description that correlate with various experiences I've had in my life since college.

I am thankful for this job. It is where I am supposed to be right now. It isn't always easy, but I am grateful to serve the church, work with great people, and feel good about my occupation at the end of the day.

Libs and Soccer

Uncle Daniel and Aunt Heather are great supporters of their nieces and nephews. It is truly amazing and I am constantly in awe of their commitment to make my kids feel special.

We've had the privilege of having Daniel, Heather and LIBS on the sidelines cheering at a few games lately. Love it!
