Photo Dump:Mollee

I miss this chubby-cheek little way-too-independent girl:This is how Daddy always wanted her hair: Here, she literally fell asleep standing up, in a princess gown:Enjoying the beach (this is such a Mollee face): I remember when I first saw this picture thinking, "Ugh, she is growing up!"I loved this toothless grin:

Engaged!

I've been working on a journal/scrapbook/memory book project for Jason over the last month and found a few dates (within my own journal) that I wasn't sure about. One is the day we got engaged, which was 14 years ago today!! We talked about getting married and then we picked out the ring together (actually, I found it and took him back to look at it), but Jason had it re-set in white gold for me. So, we talked about getting married and we ordered the ring in March, but we were officially engaged on April 11th. For dinner, we went to Chili's, which might not sound romantic, but would still be my top choice for a date night. Our first date was to JR and Shonda's wedding (look at Jason's hair)My best friend, Julie, had just gotten engaged also - we did everything together! We were young and in love! I was 19 and planning a wedding - pretty sure Mollee is not aloud to do that at age 19!
Here is a little photo dump of some of my favorite pictures together.
This is Jason's favorite from our dating days.
Our honeymoon!Surviving 8 days in the Minnesota wild together
This is a happy/sad memory. We got tickets to a very fancy evening out, which was exciting to buy a dress for and prepare for, but it turned out to be the evening after a day in the hospital with the miscarriage of our first baby. For the rest of the week, I will do a photo dump on each individual kid. It will consist of my favorites, that you probably haven't seen, that have a special reason why I like them so much!

Happy Engaged Day to me!!! I mean us!!

"Skating" on a Saturday

Today was a hectic Saturday. Jason was working and Mollee had a birthday party from 12-3. I dropped her off and then did my grocery shopping with four boys in tow. We got done way before her party was over so we just headed over to the skating rink to watch until it was over. The boys were begging to skate, but I assured them I didn't want to pay $5.50 each to let them mop the floor with the backsides. When we got there, the mother of the birthday girl said that two of the girls didn't show up if we wanted to sign up under their party and skate for free.

So, Tavis and Daegan got to "skate", I put it in quotes because I'm not sure you can call it skating. Mollee did fine, and has blisters on her ankles to prove she went skating (I forgot to check her socks and she had been wearing little cuff socks, which didn't work really well with skates).
Daegan did not do a lot of skating - then he tried to go the bathroom in his skates....Tavis did get the hang of it and eventually

Since Capps didn't get to skate I let him play a few video gamesAnd Mac loved the music and enjoyed a lot of dancing (he hasn't taken his sunglasses off in three days)After all the stories the kids told at dinner Jason decided this would be a good 'family fun' day this summer. We'll see.....

Trying to get organized....

...to go along with my coupon world.

We have a pantry cabinet in our kitchen, but we also have a closet on the far end of the kitchen. It has always been the catch-all hiding place. A gathering of miscellaneous food, lightbulbs, broken flower pots, half-used paint cans, pictures not hanging in the kitchen anymore, etc. You get the idea.
I'm trying to make it a storage closet for my 'extra' groceries when I find a good deal. We'll see how long this lasts?? Now, what to do with all the junk we took out of there??

Kindergarten Round-Up

Today Capps got to go to kindergarten for the afternoon. Usually, he is in a constant babble in the backseat, but this is how he rode the entire way to school - I assumed he was a little nervous. They got to listen to a story
Decorate a gingerbread manand have some playtime in the gym.
Afterwards, they got a t-shirt, a Popsicle, a goodie bag and were able to play on the playground.

Of course, I had to remind him this wasn't how every day of kindergarten was going to be....

Spring is Here!

My yard has the worst dirt (which isn't too disappointing because it is an excuse not to bother with my yard too much - sorry, mom!), but I filled one small bed with 'black gold' dirt when we moved in and planted my favorites. Each year, I look forward to my white daffodils. and the yellow ones, too!I figured I'd make my mother proud by posting some flower pics!!

Chapel and Tavis' favorite pasttime!

Mollee's class had chapel today, it was impossible to get a good picture, so here are the kids at the end, waiting for reading awards to be handed out. They did a great job!
When I haven't heard someone complaining that Tavis is aggravating them (his second favorite pasttime), I can usually bet I'll find him reading somewhere. Usually, the "where" is unique. The other day I found him on the coffee table, reading - one boot on, one boot off.Today in chapel he got another reading award, he is quickly catching up with his sister, which is really frustrating to her. Here he is one of his best friends, Madison.I never liked to read in my school days, but love to read now and I'm so excited for his passion in reading.
