Father's Day

We didn't really do anything today.  No gifts were exchanged.  That is just sorta life right now.

But here was my ode to Jason on Facebook:

Happy Daddy Day, Jase! To the parent that gets to handle the girl drama and the math homework. To the one who has to read all the books (good and bad) to approve them for the kids. To the one that teaches them all the theological arguments and helps them think for them self. To the cool parent that can still kick their tail at Xbox games. To the Daddy that loves each child individually - Mollee, Tavis, Daegan, Capps and Haynes - and love them unconditionally - I love you and I love being on this parenting journey with you!

And to my Dad:

Happy Father's Day, Daddy! There is a rumor I hear that this man is rough and gruff, but to me, he is the most tenderhearted man I know. I love him so much, I married a similar make and model.

This was attached to a picture that I don't have the energy to transport here right now.  I know, lazy.  But I do love these two men.  These two heroes in my life.  I do not know what I would do without them.

Oh, yeah!  And I took a picture before church, but apparently, it was sunny???

CFC

Tonight we went to a CFC soccer game.

Waiting for the game to start:
Hard to see, but the "band" making their way in from the parking lot.
You can always find a friend there.

Of course, Carter was there - (with Daddy as a coach)
There was a lot of musical chairs going on.
Love sitting with and harrassing this cutie
Gretchen and Cayce (best photo bomb ever by Gracie)

"Mr Brown" desperately trying to get a picture with Gracie.
And a final goal making a 3-2 win for CFC!!!!
Family Fun!  We look forward to the next game!!!

"School" Time

With the older four, I don't really have to encourage reading, but I do want them to stay on top of their math facts.  So, every couple of days, we have "school" time for 30 minutes where they have to do math facts.

Except Mac, he has to read.  He is a little behind in reading and we are trying to catch up to an appropriate level this Summer.  On this particular day, I asked the boys to listen to him read.  It made him as nervous as anything, but they were so sweet and patient with him.  I loved it!

Fun Mom Wednesday #2

Chuck E Cheese Arcade

(about four years ago we bought these cups and they told us they were free refills for life - not sure if they expected some crazy woman to hold onto them for so long?)
 Daegan just hanging around

This is the famous game Daeg hit a big jackpot in once

Trying to hold King Kong's hands
Mommy and Mac both hit a jackpot
Counting tickets
Spending tickets, not on junk, but on candy

"Prodigal Trailer" Returns

I got a call from our detective today and he said he felt like he found our trailer.  He said the ladder rack was gone, the VIN number was scratched off, the license plate was missing and the TC Trekker label on the back door was half peeled off, but he felt certain it was ours.  Jason needed to go by and identify it before 5:00.  Jason went by and sure enough, it was ours.

The guy that took it, had just "bought it" but couldn't remember who it bought it from.  So, he was in jail for possession of stolen property and we got our trailer back.  Jason could be asked to testify in court.

Crazy?!  When I sent this message out to a few friends they were excited and a few said they were still praying about it.  I have to admit, I had stopped praying.  I had no hope of ever seeing the trailer again, but God had another plan.  And, we have the trailer back.

Fun Mom Wednesday #1

The Aquarium  (we haven't been since Mac was a baby)
The new otter exhibit - so fun!

 Feeding the stingrays
 Petting the sturgeon
Turtles - Mommy loves turtles!

 Petting Stingrays and Sharks
Trying to catch butterflies - no luck!
 And the penguins!
And, yes, we toured the Aquarium in our bathing suits.  Well, the kids did.  I did not.  But it was worth it to visit The Passage.
I think it was successful first Fun Wednesday.  We got a one-year membership to the Aquarium, which will be a nice to visit it whenever we like over the next year.  I love it!!!

Fun Mom Wednesdays

A few years ago, I did Fun Mom Friday, just to encourage me to get out of the house with little ones.  Now, with kids home for the Summer, and a crazy work schedule, I will be doing Fun Mom Wednesday, because I get Wednesday afternoons off.

We had decided to make a list of things to do throughout the Summer, mostly coming up with things that don't cost money.  It was my idea to put everything into a hat and pull it out each Wednesday morning and that is what we would be doing that day.  But, the more I thought about it, the more I wondered if that was a good idea because weather would play into a lot of them?  And money (and both Jason and I are self-employed and if we pulled out something more expensive on a week that I didn't have a paycheck that could be frustrating).  And, well, I'm a planner, and the thought of not knowing could be, well, stressful.

So, we have our list.  And we will pull from it each Wednesday.  But it won't be a "from the hat" magic show.
