Always the last to cancel!!!

As an alum of my children's school, I know the history of snow days, or lack thereof. I knew it would do no good to watch the list of closings last night. Actually, I'm not sure why anyone was already on the list last night. Usually, CCS is the last to close. I can remember a few times as a kid when they did wait too long to close the school and it was tough getting home. Our neighborhood is at the top of steep hill and there were times we either parked at the bottom and walked home or didn't park at the bottom, ended up in the ditch and walked home.

This morning we received an e-mail stating that the school would not close early!! Well, at noon we received another e-mail saying they would close at 12:30 - come get your kids! Of course, there would be supervision for the kids that couldn't get picked up until 3:00. Because of the road condition of where Jason was working he came home early (thankfully). He called to see if he should pick up the kids and I told him, "No". By the time he got home I had gotten e-mail #2 and he headed back out to get the kids.

Of course, this is what 'the blizzard' looks like so far:(Please excuse the Christmas flag that is still hanging)
Daegan's teacher sent us a picture of the class catching snow flakes this morning with black paper - what a fun project, and what a great teacher to always share these photos with us mommies.
Looks like we are in for a long weekend!!! Yeah!!! (I think)

  1. lol. i'm so annoyed by the closings. but i suppose a lot of people live on the mountains and the school won't want parents uncertain about tiny patches of ice to get in a wreck because they didn't want their kids to get an "absence"
